Objective of job:


  • This position acts as customer liaison for the interior segment for the customer and its mandated tier 2 customers during series, at 0 Km, with responsibility and authority to ensure that the tier 1- and tier 2- customer requirements with respect to quality are addressed.


Principal Activities:


  • Co-owner of DPM process 11.11 (Quality Conformity Assurance), with focus on 11.11.07 (Complaint Management.
  • Customer representative with regards to the definition of corrective and preventive actions, in coordination with the respective quality operations interiors, and plant quality 
  • Responsible for ensuring documentation and communication of issues identified at customer locations, including satellite locations as applicable
  • Responsible for reviewing metrics with customer on regular basis to assure both parties are in agreement with values (ppm, customer audit, financial charges, and other measurable performance indicators specific to the customer)
  • Creates reports and communicates customer metrics to proper plant organizations
  • Ensures initiation of immediate actions (containment or otherwise) at customer locations to protect customer from continued receipt of non-conforming product with goal to minimize financial impact
  • Acts as a “firewall” between the Customer and the Draexlmaier organization, and protects the company from
  • problems that are not caused by internal process failures or by Draexlmaier sub-suppliers.  Conducts the preliminary investigation of defects together with the customer; coordinates the return of defective products or corresponding pictures to the appropriate department at DRX
  • Conducts preliminary investigation of defects with customer to protect the company from identified issues not resulting from Draexlmaier or Draexlmaier sub-supplier process problems.
  • Coordinates the return of defective product as necessary
  • Coordinate line trials and special projects at customer location in cooperation with the respective DRX departments
  • Leads, coaches, supervises and motivates direct reports to ensure proper training and performance based on existing processes, policies and targets
  • Breakdown and prioritize group goals for direct reports
  • Works closely with onsite customer contacts in effort to prevent impact to Draexlmaier or customer indicators when possible
  • Cooperate in personnel planning within his/her area of responsibility in cooperation with the supervisor; employ qualified personnel for the respective department within a short- to medium timeframe.
  • Assure compliance with quality standards (of the company and of the customer) in cooperation with all involved divisions (e.g. Production, etc.); implement corrective actions for any deviations.
  • Co.responsible for Reducing Costs of Non Conformance from Customer side.
  • Plan and administer the budget for the department based on the strategic and operative goals of the quality organization;
  • Support the strategic planning of the plant quality organization by developing strategic plans for respective team within short to medium timeframe.
  • Support project teams through process series release and through ramp-up phase.
  • Supervise and distribute resources, tasks and responsibilities in order to meet goals of the department and ensure customer satisfaction and provide technical and disciplinary leadership.
  • Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement in processes and/or products and actively participates in implementation of corrective actions to achieve improvements when necessary
  • Supports target achievement at individual, department, plant, and global level.


Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum five years of quality or engineering in a high volume automotive interiors environment
