NPI Application Engineer Printing & Reflow

In order to support the Application Engineering Frontend department in Timisoara, we are looking for an NPI SMT Application Engineer Printing & Reflow who can meet the challenges of the international market with openness, flexibility and enthusiasm.

Tasks:
- Reviews and analyzes technical documentation, participates in manufacturability assessments (DFM), identifies technological risks before production launch, and defines the manufacturing flow for new products or new production lines;
- Creates machine programs and establishes initial process parameters for the equipment under their responsibility;
- Develop and optimize SMT processes including stencil design, solder paste selection and reflow profiles
- Participate in DFM/DFA reviews and provide immediate feedback to design teams
- Evaluate PCB layouts, component footprints, and assembly risks early in development
- Organizes and executes process trials during the pre-series phase;
- Optimizes manufacturing processes to achieve the required process capability;
- Ensure a smooth transfer from NPI to mass production through structured validation, documentation, and knowledge handover;
- Develop and maintain work instructions, control plans, and NPI build documentation
- Validates the process before transfer to mass production and performs a documented handover to the serial production team;
- Perform process characterization (DoE, process window validation, Cp/CpK analysis)
- Ensures implementation deadlines are met and achieves the assigned performance indicators (KPIs);
- Initiate process changes whenever quality risks are identified;
- Performs machine and product capability studies during the pre-series phase.
- Support MES systems, traceability, and real-time data collection
- Train and mentor team members on SMT processes and Ekra, Ersa & Rehm machine operation
Profile:
- Higher Education in Technical field or comparable training or master or technician in Electronic Production;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the area of electronic serial production (Ekra, Ersa, Rehm): printing & reflow processes;
- Know - how of IPC 610A;
- Good command of Microsoft Office suite;
- Good knowledge of English is a must;
- Analytical skills, ability to work in a team and communication skills;
- Availability for business trips.
