As Head of Material Planning, you will lead the team responsible for ensuring uninterrupted material availability, optimizing inventory performance, and minimizing supply chain risks that could impact customer deliveries.
What Success Looks Like
- Ensure Continuous Production
- Maintain material availability levels that support uninterrupted production operations;
- Anticipate supply risks and implement mitigation plans before they affect manufacturing performance;
- Minimize production disruptions caused by material shortages and supply chain constraints;
- Lead a High-Performing Planning Organization
- Build, develop, and inspire a Material Planning and Inventory Management team focused on accountability and results;
- Foster strong collaboration across logistics, purchasing, production, warehousing, and customer teams;
- Create an environment where data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement are part of everyday operations;
- Improve Inventory and Supply Chain Performance
- Drive inventory optimization initiatives that improve stock accuracy, turnover, and availability;
- Use root cause analysis to identify recurring material shortages and implement sustainable corrective actions;
- Ensure critical materials are proactively monitored and managed to reduce operational risk;
- Deliver Visibility and Business Confidence
- Provide clear and actionable reporting on material planning performance and inventory health;
- Escalate critical risks with recommended solutions and recovery plans;
- Ensure stakeholders are informed early about any potential impact on customer delivery schedules;
- Champion Operational Excellence
- Ensure compliance with company standards, logistics processes, and production requirements;
- Leverage SAP PS4, logistics systems, and analytics to improve planning accuracy and operational efficiency;
- Contribute actively to strategic projects that strengthen the overall supply chain performance.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree or vocational qualification in a Technical or Economic field;
- 5+ years of experience in a similar leadership role within the automotive industry;
- Strong experience in material planning, inventory management, and supply chain operations;
- Advanced knowledge of SAP, logistics control systems, and Microsoft Excel;
- Fluent English communication skills;
- Proven leadership capabilities, strong analytical thinking, proactive problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence across functions.
