Does it excite you that you would be solely responsible for the development of our UK workforce? This role is made for someone with strong training delivery and coaching background. If you have experience working within a manufacturing or at least a blue-collar industry, then you will quickly get to grips with how we do things.
Our employees are important to us, so our aim is to provide them with access to ongoing planned and ad-hoc development so that they are able to support their colleagues and teams efficiently, effectively, and confidently. You will work across our 3 UK sites within the West Midlands to support our plant’s key people-development initiatives so it’s expected that you will be a quick learner and can adapt quickly to your new environment.
You must be willing to travel as you could be required to across all of our sites in either Tamworth, Solihull or Stoneleigh, so flexibility of working location is essential.
What you’ll be doing
General
• Manage small projects within personnel development across all areas of the training cycle (Analysis to Evaluation)
• Design of relevant training material
• Delivery of workshops via Teams and in the classroom
• Hold a range of coaching interventions including ad-hoc “doorstep coaching” and structured 1:1 formal coaching
• Support the new starter onboarding process
Analysis
• Analyse individual and departmental training needs and formulate a development plan for business leads and HRM
• Produce detailed training proposals using a range of analytical tools/methods to determine appropriate solutions
• Use a range of tools to determine and measure critical success factors and objectives of training vs ROI and ROE
Design
• Design and create content for structured training programs from the shopfloor workers up to and including the Senior Leadership Teams according to their development needs
• Design high-impact interventions for important topics such as ED&I
• Using creative insights and experience to develop a training library, across a range of subject matters which incorporate digital learning, social learning, and traditional classroom settings.
Delivery
• Deliver a range of interventions to class sizes of 4 to 24 people ranging from 60 minutes, “lunchtime learns” and webinars to longer structured programs lasting several days
Evaluation
• Measure the impact of training for ROI (Return on Investment and ROE (return on expectation) and produce reports for senior management detailing the success of interventions
Coaching
• Confidently and confidentially coach managers to improve their people practices using a range of coaching methods e.g. GROW, rapid coaching etc
• Formulate detailed longer term coaching agreements for team members who are on a development path
What you will need
• A recognised L&D qualification e.g. TAC or CIPD
• Knowledge of an LMS (Ideally Success Factors)
• Highly experienced in all areas of the Training Cycle and Learning cycle
• Excellent communication skills with strong stakeholder management experience and a flair for training design and delivery
• A good analytical mindset to interpret MI and develop solutions to associated business issues.
• Demonstrable skills in influencing and coaching line management in good people management practices
• A driving license and own car will be required to travel to other DAU sites.
It is essential that the post holder thrives under pressure, can work effectively with fluctuating work demands and is flexible in their work attitude (a hands-on approach is essential).
The base location of this role is still to be determined and whilst at present there is a high level of home working, moving forward an on-site presence will be required. Our UK sites are located in Tamworth, Solihull and Stoneleigh (Warwickshire). Occasional travel to our Head Office in Germany or other European locations may also be required.
