Test and Validation Engineer

We are now looking for a Test and Validation Engineer to join our team to plan, conduct, evaluate and document all simulation and testing activities to validate the functions of our product components.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Attend test events, evaluating parts against functional requirements
• Hands-on root cause engineering analysis of test results
• Compile test reports and create action plans to improve product maturity.
• Ownership for presentation and delivery of test results/data and analysis to other departments and the customer
• Review design verification plans (DVP) to understand product testing requirements and interpret these into functional product requirements.
• Create and compile all test related documents and share and feedback on the contents to the relevant internal departments and the customer.
• Create, update and maintain test plans according to the required specifications and in agreement with the customer.
• Ensure timely completion of testing processes and obtaining results to meet deadlines and/or project milestones.
• Create, develop and/or modify test setups as appropriate in conjunction with test laboratories.
• Support the testing process where required for changes during series production and where appropriate, suggest improvements to increase the degree of product maturity in line with customer requirements.
Skills and experience required:
• Educated to degree level in mechanical engineering or equivalent vocational qualification.
• Previous experience of product development and/or testing, preferably in a hands-on automotive environment.
• Strong analytical skills and experience of root cause analysis with a structured approach to problem solving.
• Basic experience of simulation (CAE)
• Knowledge of and demonstrative experience of current quality standards and methods.
• Excellent written and spoken English with strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate clearly with a wide and varied audience (including customer and supplier dialogue).
• Full, clean driving license
It is essential that the post holder thrives under pressure, can work effectively with fluctuating work demands and is flexible in their work attitude.
The base location of this role would be Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, however, the successful candidate will be required to work remotely with regular visits to our Assembly Plants in Solihull and Tamworth and designated external testing sites in Millbrook and Wednesbury.
