Objective of the position
- Planning, managing and controlling national and international vehicle projects as Project Manager Purchasing.
- Ensuring adherence from the supply network to the timing, budgets, and economic aspects of the carlines, which are defined from acquisition to series production in accordance to the customer and/or project requirements.
- Responsible for the interface from the supply market to the DRX project organization.
- Managing and controlling of vehicle projects, including acquisitions, from category A, B, and/or several technical projects from category C or several sub-projects.
Principal Activities:
- Supplier Selection Process and Management: Responsible for on-schedule handling of the supplier selection and supplier decision process as per agreement with the responsible person of commodity buying. Prior to that, ensuring the appropriate specifications, data or Specifications Requirements for the inquiry process. Initiating pre-sourcing and active participant in the sourcing committee. Incorporating the risk evaluation and contract review to assure the general legal conditions as per agreement with the responsible contract management.
- Project Planning / Control: Responsible for the organizational structure of the special project, particularly resource planning as per agreement with the supervisor. Ensuring the compilation and control of budget planning and/or the costs of the special project. Responsible for setting up and following up the overall special project schedule, including the detail plan to determine and monitor milestones. Ensuring that the SEP-related milestones are worked out on schedule. Taking strategic crash barriers to make-or-buy decisions, determining locations or technology specifications into consideration. Initiating and conducting kick-off events in order to pass on information. Develop and take corrective action in the case of a deviation.
- Target costing: Ensuring cost estimates by way of market evaluations or internal calculations in the acquisition phase. Responsible for coordinating, agreeing on and achieving the cost targets for the defined purchased volumes within the scope of managing the process of target costs. Monitoring the cost drivers by making target actual comparisons. Taking action in the event of deviations from the target, if necessary by escalating through the key project manager and/or the line organization. Ensuring the disclosure of information to generate the block material costs in the carline profit planning. Develop and take corrective actions in the case of a deviation.
- Tool Management: Initiating tool kickoffs and ensuring the start of tool tracking. Escalation in the event of deviations from the target schedule caused by the supplier and/or in the event of delays in providing data.
- Change Management: Ensuring that changes are worked off on schedule as an active representative of the project. Direct interface to the change coordinator and participant in the change talks. Analyze and evaluate changes (internal/external), cooperate in negotiations (e.g. volume and costs of changes, etc.) and assure implementation. Record the change and target management process, as well as maturity increase.
- Reporting / Escalation: Determining the project status and documentation by means of report and results presentation such as BEPs, Project Reviews, etc. Carrying out reviews with the participation of the key project management and the Procurement (P) management. Tracking the change and target management process to define possible impacts on defined KPIs and needed actions. Escalation in agreement with the supervisor in the “red status meeting” and/or the key project, BA management and/or if necessary the synergy board. Create and check project reports and presentations, as well as project conclusion documentation.
- Cost negotiations: To ensure and gather all targets for the commodity buyer to negotiate with the supplier, with regard to external defect costs such as complaint costs, field failures and series damage, and logistical mistakes. This takes place whether in the Change Management or Supplier Selection Process.
- Management: Provide technical leadership for project associates and/or sub-project leaders (FPL) and cooperation with Main Project Leader (HPL).
- Customer Support: Successful preparation and execution of the subject-specific scope of the customer audits. Representative of the special project towards the customer as agreed to by the key project management. Act as interface between involved internal/external areas (e.g. key project leader, technical project leader, subproject leader, customer, suppliers, departments, etc.)
- Assure compliance with requirements (IATF, customer/internal requirements) by suppliers (purchased parts) in all phases of the projects, in cooperation with the project members of the quality, purchasing, and development areas, and taking into account the planned activities, timelines, schedules and economic aspects. Act as link between the procurement market and DRX development, with the goal of coordinating product- and process relevant characteristics with the suppliers.

Professional career:
