Packaging Planning AM

Objective of the position 

  • Create, plan and implement complex packaging concepts for different products and different segments
  • Optimize existing packaging concepts for the entire DRÄXLMAIER’ Supply Chain (Customers/Suppliers/Plants)
  • Ensure a standardized containerization throughout DRAXLMAIER supply chain by applying global standards and packaging industry best practices.
  • Communicate and adapt external requirements from customer and suppliers to DRAXLMAIER standards.
  • Support DRAXLMAIER plants by developing packaging concepts and other packaging planning activities.

 

Principal Activities:

  • Design packaging concepts according to DRAXLMAIER global standards
  • Create and monitor project packaging budget within industrialization phase
  • Responsible to lead packaging activities and their documentation during project phase (calculations, budget, reporting, industrialization, coordination and implementation)
  • Coordinates packaging validations with stakeholders during project
  • Technical interface with customers, suppliers and plants for packaging topics
  • Maintain a standardized packaging operation
  • Follow up standard information and process management to ensure a smooth handover from industrialization to series phase
  • All activities will be provided for interior, electric, and HC segments
  • Conducting economic feasibility studies from a packaging planning point of view
  • Creating documentation (e.g., packaging data sheets, specifications, etc.) and presentations
  • Provide information to evaluate changes that require revision on the packaging concept
  • Contributing to data collection for capacity and resource planning of the packaging planning function
  • Supporting the definition and optimization of internal standards and processes within the packaging planning function (e.g., creation and implementation of globally valid standards)
  • Observing/identifying trends in packaging planning to develop new concepts (e.g., for optimizing the packaging planning, etc.), recommending field of actions
  • Setting up and supporting the logistics functions in relation to packaging planning topics (e.g.,LPP)
  • Leading and managing logistics projects and project teams and participating in more complex logistics projects (e.g., RFQ, budget packaging round, packaging optimizations, supply chain optimizations, etc.)
  • Participate in root cause analysis meetings
  • Actively participate in cost savings activities and optimizations
  • Train other employees within the area of expertise

 

Requirements:

Professional career: 

  • Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar (3 to 5 years)

Relevant experience: 

  • Packaging Engineering
  • Packaging Planner
  • CAD basic knowledge

 

Technical knowledge:

  • Plastic Packaging Standard (AM / EU)
  • Packaging Concept ( Returnable, Expendable)
  • Technical Cardboard Box ( ECT, BCT Mullen, ASTM )
  • Wood Pallet ( Types & Standard AM / EU)
  • Corrugated Plastic Standard (Thickness)
  • Metallics Racks (Metal Thickness, Footprint, Rubbers)
  • Expendable Packaging (Consumables)
  • Textile Dunnage (Suppliers, Materials)
  • ISTA Test ( 3A & 3E)
