Lead Project Design Engineer

Objective of the position

• Lead and coordlnate a subproject to assure on-time and high quality product development with given support
• from the conception phase through series production,
• Ensure and improve that all technlcal, legal, and customer specific requirements are followed.
• Assure that all internal and external quality requirements are considered.

Principal activities

• Analyze and evaluate changes (internal/ external), cooperate in negotiations (e.g. volume and costs of changes, etc.) and assure implementation.
• Create and check project reports and presentations, as well as project conclusion documentation.
• Oversee technical designers on technical and conceptual drawings.
• Oversee generation of and check releasable 3D models of technical parts to verify that they meet customer as well as legal requirements.
• Ensure that all documentation is properly created and maintained for new parts, modified parts, and purchase parts. Ensure that data is properly stored within PLM. Ensure that data transfer is occurring in an effective manner.
• Participate in FMEA documentation.
• Define and verify special -and critical product characteristics.
• Management of developed parts until series production. Evaluate alternatives and recommend product solutions to components/assembly concerns throughout the development process.
• Customer contact: responsible for customer interaction, attending customer meetings, conducting technical correspondence.
• Define tasks, recognize Problems, analyze them and develop recommended Solutions, clarification or opportunities for realization, with support for practical Implementation.
• Ensure that all deliverable are completed.
• Verify design progress and plan the design resources accordingly.
• Make sure that the external and Internal timelines and milestones are met.

Requirements:

Professional career: Engineering Technology Degree - Preferred.

Relevant experience: 3-5 years in CAD product development within automotive interior components, Industry product development, part and tool design, GD&T, plastic part development, injection molding processes, DRX product development and production processes, CAD design requirements (UG NX or Catia).

Technical knowledge: Presentation skills, Project management, GD&T, Statistical Tools, Risk Analysis, Customer specific requirements, CAD, SPC, SAP, Advanced English.
