Objective of the position
Responsible for performing the origin calculation of parts produced by Draexlmaier in Nort America as per rules of origin pertaining to various applicable free trade agreements, supplier solicitation and Assign tariff classifications.
Principal activities
- Origin calculation of parts produced by Draexlmaier within North America under rules of origin pertaining to applicable free trade agreement
- Maintain origin related database in Draexlmaier internal systems as applicable
- Maintain origin related database on external customers web portals, as per customers' request
- Issue certificates of origin as per Draexlmaier's internal needs (border crossing shipments)
- Issue documents of origin (certificates of origin, manufacturers affidavits, declaration of origin, so), as per external customers' requests, based on the preferential status of the parts
- Provide guidance to Draexlmaier's suppliers within North America in regards to free trade agreements topics
- Verify the origin documents received from suppliers; register the information in the ERP system and save the documentation in ScanView
- Maintains KPIs related to supplier solicitaion activities and origin calcuations of parts produced by Draexlmaier in the region; analyses and implement measures to maintain within required limits
- Follow up the receipt of the requested origin documentation from suppliers
- Collect and review commodity information from Engineering, Procurement, suppliers and other parties and classify raw-materials, equipment and parts internally produced, according to the General Rules for the Interpretation and the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States
- Develop and retain audit trails to support the classification assigned
- Maintain data base related to commodity classifications in the internal ERP system and /or MX customs inventory system
- Work closely with the key users to maintain the data base in the customs system for Annex24 and Annex 31 inventory control.
- Participates in the implementation of new projects; define technical specifications and requirements.
- Proposes internal procedures to optimeze related customs processes as it applies to supplier solictation and origin calcuations.
Requirements:
- Professional career: BD • International trade degree, LIN, LAE or related; college degree
- Relevant experience- 3 – 6 years of professional experience in the free trade agreements and Experience in free trade agreement related to auto industry is a plus and professional experience related to IMMEX and Maquiladora companies is a plus.
