Objective of job
Lead and coordinate the Development of wire harnesses for vehicle electrical systems, as subproject to assure on-time and high quality product development with given support from the conception phase through series production.
Ensure and improve that all technical, legal, and customer specific requirements are followed.
Assure that all internal and external quality requirements are considered
Principal activities
Analyze and evaluate changes (internal/ external), cooperate in negotiations (e.g. weight and costs of changes, etc.) and assure implementation.
Create and check project reports sand presentations, as well as project conclusion documentation.
Oversee production-related issues in the design work and conceptual drawings
Oversee and Design connections for parts/ component groups or single complex parts, taking into consideration existing individual functions elements.
Develop design concepts according to internal requirements, drafts, guidelines, customer requirements and legal requirements.
Develop and coordinate design concepts taking into account predetermined manufacturing technologies, specified materials and technical standards.
Ensure that all documentation is properly created and maintained for new parts, modified parts, and purchase parts. Ensure that data is properly stored within CMH.
Handle design changes and serve as a local point of contact; development and technical clarification with the customer departments of all such changes
Leading the change management process for the changes in the appropriate customer tools and internal DRX development tools
Participate in FMEA documentation.
Management of developed parts until series production. Evaluate alternatives and recommend product solutions to components/assembly concerns throughout the development process.
Define tasks, recognize problems, analyze them and develop recommended solutions, clarification or opportunities for realization, with support for practical implementation.
Implement/ have implemented design results in technical lists (e.g. routings, etc.) taking into consideration the numbering system and product-specific features
Full responsibility for definition and release of wire harness drawings
Preparation of concepts and suggestions for improvement (optimizations)
Cooperation on specifications, installation tests and reworks of wire harnesses in prototypes and pre-production vehicles
Active work in customer tools like Mentor Graphics and Catia
Support and cooperation for the assembly of development vehicles
Definition of requirements for materials, processes and tools
Be conversant with extraction and termination of all types of automotive connection systems i.e.Bosch, Tyco, Delphi, Yazaki, Sumitomo, Molex etc.
Support new and existing customer projects
Support installation of prototype assemblies at customer's site – feedback as required.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Minimum of 3-5 years experience in Electrical System Development
Experienced with Catia and/or Mentor Graphics
Working knowledge with product development to start of production
