Objective of job:
- Establish ownership of the processes through effective communication/implementation of PDD goals and objectives with a focus on perosnal planning, tooling repair and pm prioritization, procurement of spare parts, quoting external tool work including ECR's quality, safety, 5S, budget control and continuous improvement. Emphasis placed on performance by supporting all measurable and delliverables with respect to labor efficiency, scrap reduction, PPM, First Time Yield, OEE, Utilization and Safety.
Principal Activities:
- Ensure all associates are properly trained to perform required job function.
- Ensure associates understand required quality specifications for job.
- Ensures PM's and Corrective Actions are completed on time for tools.
- Ensures spare parts availability for tools.
- Plan schedule according to days projected requirements
- Monitor and assist tooling associates in the processing and controlling of work orders.
- Material availability: expedites support materials and parts needed to workstations whenever necessary by preparing material requisition sheets or purchase requisitions.
- Participate and support new program development and product launch.
- Assists in troubleshooting quality problems.
- Monitor scrap / rework costs and coordinate improvement projects and scrap reductions plans.
- Establish teams to address quality issues and utilize the Q-wheel for managing non-conformances.
- Ensure all error-proofing devices are working properly.
- Ensure that associates have a safe, clean, orderly work environment.
- Ensures department associates maintain established 5S housekeeping standards.
- Review, monitor, and ensure that all safety regulations are understood and followed.
- Ensure all materials are labeled, handled, and disposed of per Dräxlmaier EMS.
- Provides motivation and assistance as appropriate to production associates.
- Provides feedback to Management regarding new associates (monitoring of training and work performance along with appropriate documentation).
- Monitor associate performance, define expectations & establish development plans.
- Responsible for ensuring that training plans are established and current, and, that all associates are fully trained.
- Assists Management in maintaining process efficiency in assigned areas.
- Maintains Goals and Key Performance Indicators supporting PDD objectives
- Provide tooling, personnel and project status reports to Management
- Responsible for supporting production deliverables and making adjustments as needed
- Personnel planning (including hiring and termination of production personnel)
- Monitor OEE Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Annually. Report results and take corrective action to improve if necessary.
- Reporting of all safety non-conformances and corrective actions.
- Ensure that the preventative maintenance plans of all Tooling in the department are executed and completed as scheduled.
- Prepare information on new or replacement investments of production equipment.
- Ensure all departmental budgets meet PDD goals and objectives and take corrective action when there are non-conformances.
- Coordinate and or support Continuous Improvement efforts while implementing lean manufacturing strategies.
Pay Range:
- $85,000 - $105,500 depending on experience.
Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years of Leadership in Automotive is preferred.
- Knowledge with JIT Principles, Lean Manufacturing, SMED and Tooling Technology.
