Objective of Job

  • Assure all welding, assembly & automation processes comply with standards in the LIV plant
  • Optimization of productivity and quality for welding, assembly & automation processes installed in the LIV Plant
  • Assist in planning and implementing production processes for specific technologies in a plant, for existing and new products, in cooperation with the areas of process development, process planning equipment engineering, logistics, production and quality, with the goal of efficiently industrializing the product
  • Ensures the process engineer department runs smoothly. Also to be the technical and disciplinary leader responsible for the training and development of the team
  • Area of responsibility: All welding, assembly & automation processes in the LIV Plant

 

Principal Activities

  • Provide technical and disciplinary leadership and make personnel decisions in co-operation with HR and Supervision within the welding, assembly & automation Process Engineering department 
  • Development of department specific employee goals, breakdown and prioritizing of department goals as well as monitoring of goals, and evaluation of goal achievement
  • Lead cross functional team in developing and maintaining Process FMEAs
  • Ensure all error proofing devices are implemented and functioning correctly.
  • Ensure Process Eng. department collaboration in creating requirement manuals, together with equipment engineering. Taking into account profitability, process reliability & lessons learned to achieve project goals.
  • Increase efficiency and reduce cycle times of production process for all welding, assembly & automation processes by optimizing process parameters or equipment
  • Eliminate manufacturing waste through process optimization. (time, scrap, effort, etc.)
  • Establish and maintain machine and process capability for production processes within area of responsibility
  • Ensure creation, maintenance and updates on production documentation (Process Data Sheets, Work Instructions, P-FMEA, Re-Release Sheets, etc.) as required by IATF 16949 within area of responsibility
  • Cooperate with Process Development and Corporate Process Engineering teams in optimizing and deveoping process improvements and new production processes
  • Validate process and product characteristics (CC’s, SC’s and IC’s) as defined by Product Development, Process Development or Quality Department
  • Establish reference and boundary samples in cooperation with Product Development, Process Development and Quality for production processes within area of responsibility
  • Review engineering change requests (ECR) and give feedback for implementation cost
  • Define and manage various plant level improvment projects related to the area of responsibility by develping and evaluating potenial for improvements
  • Ensure cooperation in the Run at Rate and in process handover, analysis of deviations and the introduction of corrective actions.
  • Some travel is required

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (Automotive, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering)
  • 3-5 years experience in Process engineering, Project management, Plastics welding and assemblies, Automation technologies
  • PLC Programming
  • Microsoft Office Suite intermediate to high skill level

Pay Range:  $98,000 - $127,000
