Objective of job

This position assures for all assigned commodities that all quality related customer and internal requirements are met during series production

 

Principal activities

  • Assures in cooperation with the assigned Quality Technicians that required inspections within the production process are conducted correctly and in case of deviations proper corrective actions get initiated. Relevant inspections / tests depend on the assigned area but might include first / last piece inspections, hourly inspections, specific part testing, in process inspections, final inspections, dock audits, fixture measurements etc.
  • Maintains proper documentation for required quality related inspections /testing activities (e.g. related work instructions, inspection plans)
  • Assures that relevant inspection / testing records are adequately kept and stored in conformance with existing instruction / procedures
  •  Assures creation, proper maintenance, storage and regular verification of required reference / boundary samples within assigned area of responsibility
  • Assures in case of product or process non conformities that Quality Alerts are issued and properly communicated in relevant areas
  • Point of contact within the plant organization for any internal and external issues related to assigned commodities 
  • Facilitates the problem solving process and coordinates the timely and effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions for assigned commodities in cooperation with the plant organization, supplier quality and other relevant departments
  • Assures timely responses to internal / external complaints related to assigned commodities in customer portals and internal systems (QSYS) based on customer and internal requirements and procedures
  • Assures in case of any product or process nonconformities (found internally or communicated by the customer) that required containment activities are initiated immediately and tracked properly in cooperation with production / logistics / supplier quality and customer quality in conformance to customer and internal requirements and procedures. The control of nonconforming product might require to consider the complete process chain starting at the sub supplier up to finished products at our end customer.
  • Assures within the change management process that required quality specific tasks (as quality documentation updates, dimensional measurements, testing necessities, appearance approvals are considered, initiated and conducted in time
  • Establishes / maintains proper PPAP status and documentation for all assigned commodities and assures the timely submission of required new PPAP's towards our customers
  • Maintains and controls quality specific documents as control plans and inspection plans
  • Participates in change management meetings for assigned commodities
  • Participates in process audits or layered process audits as required
  • Assures tracking and effective implementation of proper corrective actions in case deviations are found in assigned area of responsibility during internal / external / customer audits
  • Assures implementation of product audits within assigned area of responsibility
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities to improve existing processes / products
  • Actively promotes implementation of prevention rather than detection methods throughout the manufacturing process
  • Assures proper reporting for assigned commodities as required by the department manager
  • Assures proper function / maintenance / calibration as required of all quality equipment within assigned area of responsibility as test equipment / fixtures / gages etc. in cooperation with involved departments / Quality Service group.

 

Job Requirements

  • Batchelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Automotive Engineering or related field
  • Quality experince in supervisory capacity in high volume production facility
  • Experienced with 8D methodology, complaint management
  • Experience with various quality documentation such as control plans, P-FMEA, Ishikawa plan, control charts
  • Detail method and process knowledge of approriate quality methods (SPC, FMEA, APQP, etc.)
  • Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office
