Maintenance Service Equipment Supervisor- A Shift

Objective of job:

  • Manage a small, well-defined Maintenance Organization unit with different functions (Service Tooling, Maintenance General Equipment, Service Test Engineering and Special Equipment).
  • Coordination of Service, Maintenance and Change of complex technical equipment.
  • To ensure the smooth operation of production equipment of a daily basis. Establish ownership of processes through effective communication/ implementing of goals and objectives with a focus on personnel planning, production planning, quality, safety, TPM, budget control and continuous improvement. Emphasis placed on performance by supporting all measurable and deliverables with respect to labor efficiency, scrap reduction, PPM, First time yield, OEE, Utilization, and safety.

 

Principle Activities:

  • Oversee the repair and rebuilding of all production equipment.
  • Instruct, encourage, motivate and evaluate associates; take disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Create training plans for maintenance personnel.
  • Provide technical and disciplinary leadership to associates (that report to him/her; make personnel decisions in Cooperation with the HR department and the Manager.
  • Provide feedback on spare part issues to Maintenance Manager.
  • Assure compliance with and Implementation of guidelines relevant for Service Tooling and Equipment, Maintenance of mechanical and optical equipment (e.g., Company goals, divisional goals, quality requirements, customer wishes, legal guidelines, etc.).
  • Participate in risk analysis.
  • Contact with the suppliers for machines, spare parts and external maintenance support
  • Create a maintenance plan and plan the personnel based on their qualification skills.
  • Provide daily preventive maintenance according to TPM checklist generated in Optimain.
  • Assure Service and maintenance fulfillment in quality and adherence to schedule by the efficient use of machinery, material and equipment
  • Support production deviation processes and work equipment.
  • Provide assistance and guidance as appropriate to production associates.
  • Provide feedback to Maintenance Manager on usefulness of current PM and any ideas to improve.
  • Assess Maintenance Techs for level of competency for equipment knowledge and safety regulations.
  • Develop trainings for Maintenance Techs in cooperation with HR that are within budget.
  • Maintain production equipment uptime above targeted set by Draexlmaier Management.
  • Ensure all associates are properly trained to perform required job functions.
  • Ensure associates understand required quality specifications for job.
  • Ensure PM´s are completed on time. Monitor daily/ weekly/ monthly/ annual PM´s. Report results and take corrective action to improve if necessary.
  • Ensure spare part availability for upcoming repairs and projects.
  • Create and maintain Maintenance Tech work schedules. Plan schedule according to days projected requirements.
  • Monitor and assist production associates in the processing and controlling of work order tickets.
  • Assists in troubleshooting problems.
  • Ensure all error proofing devices are working properly.
  • Ensure that associates have a safe, clean, orderly work environment.
  • Ensure department associates maintain established 5S/ TPM housekeeping standards.
  • Review, monitor, and ensure all safety regulations are understood and followed.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding new associates ( monitoring of training and work performance along with appropriate documentation).
  • Monitor associate performance, define expectations & establish development plans.
  • Responsible for ensuring that training plans are established and current, and, that all associates follow the key performance indicators.
  • Assist management in maintaining process efficiency in assigned areas.
  • Procure all needed tools for Maintenance Techs to succeed in the daily duties within budget.
  • Interview and hire new Maintenance Techs when positions are approved.
  • In case of major breakdown, identify and implement course of action according to machine emergency concept.
  • Maintain department KPI measurements for machine downtime.

 

 

Job Requirements:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent experience. Area of study: Industrial Maintenance or Mechanical Engineering preferred. 
  • 3 to 5 years of Automotive Manufacturing desired.
  • 3 to 5 years in a previous leadership role. 
  • Strong technical knowledge in MS Office, Pneumatics, Hydraulics and Electrical Technical knowledge.

 

Pay Range: $95,000 - $112,000

 

Working hours: 5a-1:30p, Tues-Saturday, off Sunday-Monday.
