Objective of job

The Lean Six Sigma Specialist is responsible for executing and supporting the Lean Six Sigma strategy within the plant LIV and across corporate functions on site. Focus will be to support the associates through sharing and transferring knowledge, teaching and a hands on approach. This role is responsible for the Draexlmaier IDEA's system, coordinating Lean Six Sigma trainings and events, and delivering local assignments that are directly linked to the LSS strategy for site Livermore and in turn overall success of the quality road map.


Principal activities

  • Assist in training and coaching LSS Yellow & Green Belts. Invest considerable time in the development of LSS Yellow belts and other LSS specialists
  • Attend Kaizen Events as both facilitator and mentor as needed
  • Lead site level business process workshops for LSS related process issues.  Define the resources and timeframes required for project plans and charters
  • Ensure consistency and standardization for the designated site and that the correct CI methodologies are being applied/followed
  • Provide guidance and focus to support site teams to achieve LSS roll out objectives (including KPIs, business unit capability & knowledge transfer)
  • Capture and share best practices from projects and training roll outs to support the development of the DRX methodology.
  • Self Manage own utilization to maximise effectiveness.
  • Primary site contact for management of IDEA's system including recurring report generation and distribution
  • Primary contact for coordination of site 5S program - including adherance to site standards, 5S process details, and reporting of KPI's
  • Develop strong relationships with key operational leadership at the site
  • Identify opportunities for improvement across ass areas of the site and create formal charters
  • Develop LSS communications throughout the site to promote LSS strategy and culture
  • Develop training documentation as needed to support continuous improvement topics at the site


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred or equivalent 5 years of experience in Lean Six Sigma or Business improvement roles
  • Two years operational experience preferred
  • Green or Black Belt certification
  • Project Management experience with multiple projects at one time
  • Microsoft Office - Excel intermediate level
  • Minitab proficiency
  • Process oriented thinking
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
