Summer 2021 ME Process Engineering Co-op or Intern

Objective of job

  • This position will be responsible for assisting the Plant Engineering group in all projects resulting in optimizing safety, quality, and productivity of any and all carlines.

 

Summer Rotation: May 10 - August 13, 2021

 

Principal activities

  • Provide support for day to day operations of engineering department.
  • Assists production and maintenance in isolating complex manufacturing issues whether it is in process, material, or machine functionality related.
  • Optimize production processes for all parts.
  • Recommend production equipment and specifications for production department.
  • Assist in team development of Process Flows, FMEAs, Work Instructions, Time Studies, Machine Capacity, etc.
  • Responsible to work with support departments in scheduling and reporting of trials and the development of routings.
  • Responsible to track and coordinate continual process improvement projects.
  • Provide appropriate communications to Department Manager and Supervisors as needed to achieve and maintain labor efficiency, machine efficiency and costs.
  • Ergonomic review and improvements
  • Maintain equipment documentation (machine manual, drawings, backup programs, etc.)
  • Responsible in assisting Maintenance to understand what PMs and spare parts are required.
  • Manage various plant level projects
  • Other duties as assigned by PDD6 management to ensure optimal plant performance.     

 

Job Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelors Degree - Mechanical Engineering
  • Completed 3 semesters towards degree
  • Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Complete three alternating rotations for co-op positions
  • Able to work in the US indefinitely and without restrictions
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of VBA and Macros
  • Knowledge of AutoCad
