Objective of job:
- This position supports quality systems and processes in order to ensure customer requirements are met, both internally and externally.
Principal activities:
- Provide incoming and annual technical training for quality techs and ensure training documentation is properly completed and submitted for tracking. Including production associates that are required to perform Quality Inspections.
- Assist in the overall activities of the Quality Services function, including all works to be performed, the development of work instructions, the controlling part prints, the creation and publishing of reports, and the adherence to all relevant testing, inspection and measurement requirements.
- Support and participate in the (internal) initial sampling process, which includes collecting, identifying, and documenting master, limit, boundary, and working samples.
- Assist in establishing, developing and maintaining appropriate measurement protocols, while ensuring adherence to customer and/or other appropriate industry standards.
- To schedule perform and report on all required testing, inspections and measurements which include environmental testing, precision measurements (CMM), melt flow analysis, viscosity testing, pH Testing, tensile and pull tests, color and gloss evaluations, and the performance of statistical studies and analysis where appropriate.
- Ensure that all current testing, inspection and measuring equipment are properly maintained, serviced and are capable to perform the test for which they were purchased. This includes maintaining service agreements, establishing the appropriate calibration frequencies and ensuring the appropriate repairs are performed on equipment as needed.
- Perform all duties to assure adherence to DQS/TS16949/VDA as required.
- To support production quality through customer visits and interaction with other quality production, and engineering personnel to promote problem solving and continuous improvements.
- Effectively communicate with supervisors any problems with safety, quality, equipment, and/or productivity.
- Serve on cross-functional teams to ensure the continuous improvement of quality.
- Ensure that all relevant testing and measurement documentation is properly created and maintained according to Control plan. Ensure that data is properly stored within QSYS. Ensure that data transfer is occurring in an effective manner.
- Lead Quality Technician training and create scheduled coverage in all required areas. Ensure responsibilities of each area are being completed on Inspection Plan.
- Maintain shop floor documentation is up to date and current as related to Quality. Visual aids, Quality Alerts and reference samples.
- Collect parts required for recurring testing both internally and externally.
- Support Quality Technician responsibilities if needed on short term basis.
- Manage containments based on internal and external failures as required.
Job Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years of high volume automotive manufacturing environment experience.
- 3 to 5 years experience with automotive quality experience.
