Objective of job:

  • To ensure all the Logistics functions at the plant. Ensure efficient planning and control of material requirements and detailed Production program based on customer orders in compliance with existing capacities and resources. Coordination of all Supply Chain and Logistics activities connected with the site with the aim of producing the products according to order and on-schedule supply to the customer. 
  • Supervise a very extensive/complex department in Logistics with focus on Customer Shipments, Interplant shipments, Warehousing, Empty Dunnage Distribution and Material Distribution. 
  • Ensure in-time customer supply based on Shipping Schedules.
  • Ensure in-time Interplant-shipments and Material Distribution. 
  • Ensures the data flow through JIT Systems.
  • Coordinate communication with Customers.
  • Oversees the Raw Material planning team and the disposition of Raw Material according to current demands, while obtaining optimal production supply and inventory targets. 

 

Principal Activities:

  • Lead and supervise (technically/disciplinary) a very extensive/complex department in Logistics with multiple different functions and varied complex tasks.
  • Plan and administer the budget for the area of responsibility, in cooperation with the supervisor, and make sure there is compliance with it.
  • Monitor cost development and assure compliance with predetermined budgets/overheads/BDE time determinations and characteristics; implement corrective actions as needed, in cooperation with supervisor
  • Develop and implement personnel planning in the area of responsibility as agreed to by the supervisor and in the appointment of employees in accordance with their qualifications.
  • Provide technical and disciplinary leadership to associates that report to him/her; make personnel decisions in cooperation with the HR department and the supervisor.
  • Manage and ensure all the Logistics processes and outbound functions at the plant for the area of responsibility (e.g. warehouse management, material management, control, delivery, transport, etc.), take action as needed in the case of any deviations..
  • Identify possibilities, work out optimization suggestions and ensure they are adhered to in order to permanently improve the Logistics processes and structures, procedures and methods at the plant, both in the series and in new projects. Adhere to firmly embedded standards and design guidelines. Manage or participate in projects across the divisions and the sites.
  • Plan and control freight cycles for smooth supply to the customer. Monitor and optimize transport capacity utilization, material usage and warehouse/empties stock and storage processes in terms of cost efficiency and availability in cooperation with corporate Logistics departments, partly together with other special departments. Ensure material supply to the production lines in accordance with the order, professional storage and booking of the various material groups and ensure management of empties in compliance with specified standards.
  • Support assurance of all functions in his/her area of responsibility; install KPI and monitor accordingly; implement measures in the event of deviations
  • Participate in planning and implementing new carlines as well as phase-out-projects in the area of responsibility in cooperation with corporate Logistics departments. Represent Logistics interests of the site with the aim of achieving optimal cost structures.
  • Support the Strategic Planning of the department by breaking down or developing the strategic planning for the group, within a short or medium-range time frame.
  • Others duties assigned by mangement.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in related discipline (Business, Economics, IT, Engineering, Logistics, and/or Supply Chain Management) preferred, not required.
  • 6 to 8 years of Automotive industry experience is a plus.
