Objective of Job:

This position will be responsible for assisting Logistics Planning group in all projects resulting in optimizing the material flow, Warehouse bin location planning, space-lay out planning, and general supply chain planning concepts, considering lean manufacturing techniques focused on increasing the efficiency of current processes, of any and all carlines.


Fall Rotation:  August 17 - December 18, 2020


Principle Activities:

  • Provide support for day to day operations of Logistics Planning department.
  • Support in the coordination of activities related to material flow and structure planning that will ensure zero production downtime while minimizing costs to implement and maintain the supporting systems
  • Assisting on the design, Creation of Requirements Manuals for RFQ and ensure timely installation of warehouse/material handling infrastructure.
  • Collaborating on the Interface with Packaging Engineering group regarding packaging dimensions, optimal lot sizes and any other topics related to material flow/structure planning.
  • Assisting on the implementation and optimization of material flow systems to ensure material availability and process efficiency (lean concepts). From receiving – storage process, retrieval and delivery of material, delivery of finished goods, and shipping processes.
  • Collaboration for the definition of the material handler capacity by maintaining an overview of material flow routes assigned to each material handler.
  • Support the Monitoring of the warehouse capacity via calculation tools and observing containerization loop days
  • Assist in the development of logistics regional projects.
  • Assisting the procurement of material for production scheduling & customer delivery.
  • Provide appropriate communications to Department Manager and Supervisors as needed to achieve and maintain high efficiency.
  • Implement process improvements that improve cost, quality, and productivity.
  • Assist in Maintaining Logistics planning department documentation updated.
  • Other duties as assigned by the department manager to ensure optimal department performance.


Job / Program Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in progress within the field of Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Industrial Engineering
  • Completed three semesters towards degree
  • Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Able to complete three alternating rotations for co-op positions
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong communication and multicultural environment skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite
  • Basic programming skills in VBA, macro
