Objective of job:
- This position acts as customer liaison for the customer BMW, including their mandated tier 2 customers during series, at 0 Km, with responsibility and authority to ensure that the tier 1 and tier 2 customer requirements with respect to quality are addressed.
Principal activities:
- Customer representative with regards to the definition of corrective and preventive actions, in coordination with the respective quality operations electrics, plant quality and project development functions.
- Customer representative with regards to the determination of special characteristics in coordination with the respective quality operations electrics, plant quality, and project development functions.
- Customer representative with regards to product design In coordination with the respective quality operations electrics and project development functions.
- Initiates immediate Containment actions to protect the customer from receiving non-conforming products, at the same time minimizing the financial impact to Draexlmaier. Provides the cut-off point (clean build) to the customer in cooperation with the respective department (plant quality, supplier quality or logistics);
- Entitled to issue directives to all areas in case of quality or supply related disturbances of the process, in coordination with the respective complaint management function, with the main goal of assurance of on time provision of products to the customer at the required quality levels.
- Reviews QSYS 8D reports and uploads into the VW B2B for response to complaint reports, as well as other tier 2 customer portals if applicable.
- Supervises Quality Field Technician activities. Ensures necessary resources based on approved plans. Guarantees clear distribution of tasks and responsibilities based on the goals of the department. Assesses performance, guides, develops and motivates direct reports according to Draexlmaier guidelines. Makes personnel decisions in Cooperation with HR and the direct Supervisor.
- Acts as a "firewall" between the customer and the Draexlmaier Organization, and protects the Draexlmaier company from issues that are not caused by internal process failures or by Draexlmaier sub-suppliers. Conducts the preliminary investigation of defects together with the customer; Coordinates the return of defective products or corresponding pictures to the appropriate department at Draexlmaier.
- Reviews and report on a regular basis the PPM relevant defects with the customer and disputes if needed.
- Coordinates line trials and special projects at customer location and Draexlmaier production facility In Cooperation with the respective departments.
- Continuous Improvement In coordination with the responsible technical departments
- Manages and prioritizes activities based on Organization needs.
- Clarifies technical questions, concerns, and/or problems with the customer in coordination with different departments within the DRX Organization (ex. Logistics, Engineering, Plant Quality, etc.)
- Performs all other duties as directed by the direct Supervisor.
Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years in Quality or Engineering in the automotive industry
- 3 to 5 years of knowledge with TS-16949
