Objective of job:

  • Establish ownership of the proceses through effective communication/implementation of the plant goals and objectives. With a focus on personnel planning, production planning, quality, safety, 6S, budget control and continuous improvement. Emphasis placed on performance by attaining all measurable and deliverables with respect to training and development, efficiency, scrap reduction, PPM, First Time Yield, OEE, utilization and safety. 

 

Principal activities:

 

Personnel:

  • Plan associate headcount per daily production requirements.
  • Ensure all associates are properly trained to perform required job function.
  • Ensure associates understand required quality specifications for job.
  • Meet weekly goals for direct labor based on plant PP target.
  • Complete associate evaluations.

 

Production:

  •  Meet daily production targets based on daily production requirements
  •  Monitor and assist production associates in the processing and controlling of work order tickets.
  •  Material availability: expedites support materials and parts needed to workstations whenever necessary by preparing material requisition sheets or shopping cart requisitions.
  •  Participate and support new program development and product launch.
  •  Approval of new Work Instructions as provided by Process Engineering.

 

Quality

  • Assists in troubleshooting quality problems.
  • Monitor scrap / rework costs and coordinate improvement projects and scrap reductions plans.
  • Establish teams to address quality issues and utilize the Q-wheel for managing non-conformances.
  • Review, monitor, and ensure that all safety regulations are understood and followed.
  • Ensure all safety incidents are reported and incident report completed under the direction of a Manager.

 

Leading People / Performance Monitoring:

  •   Provides motivation and assistance as appropriate to production associates.
  •   Provides feedback to Management regarding new associates (monitoring of training and work performance along with appropriate documentation)
  •   Assumes leadership role in the absence of departmental manager.
  •   Tracks and monitors associates’ performance in production activities.

 

Work Instructions / Process Monitoring Checks / Equipment Parameters:

  •   Responsible for verifying accuracy of work instructions in assigned area and that the associate follows the process.  Reports necessary changes to Engineering.
  •   Responsible for verifying process monitoring checks are performed per scheduled frequency.
  •   Provide production, personnel and project status reports to  Management.
  •   Responsible for meeting production deliverables and making adjustments as needed
  •   Personnel planning (including hiring and termination of production personnel)

 

Reporting:

  • Reporting daily production results and take corrective action to improve if necessary

 

  • Responsible for daily production report for Injection Molding and / or Assembly. (Efficiency (PP), Scrap, PPM, FTY, OEE, Equipment Utilization, Safety, and 5S)
  • Reporting of all safety non-conformances and corrective actions.

 

Maintenance:

  •  Ensure that the preventative maintenance plans of all machinery in the department are executed and  completed as scheduled.
  •  Prepare information on new or replacement investments of production equipment.

 

Continuous Improvement:

  • Coordinate and or support Continuous Improvement efforts while implementing lean manufacturing strategies.
