Process Engineer - Plastics Welding

Implementation and planning of several technologies as part of project industrialization specifically for Plastics Welding also offering support of series production.


Principle Activities

  • Cooperate with process development and equipment planning in optimizing existing processes and in developing new processes.
  • Conduct the parameterization and creation of requirement manuals, process windows, as well as the appropriate data sheets accounting for development guidelines for the process to achieve the required product and process specifications.
  • Create extensive work instructions (e.g. for production associates, etc.) and conduct extensive training sessions for pre-series and series activities.
  • Start up and tune-in machinary, equipment, and processes, conduct test runs and functional tests identifying project risks and communicating them to the project lead andline supervisor.
  • Determine causes of defects/failures in equipment, processes, etc. through analyzing and root causing, developmenting and implementing the corrected measures.
  • Verify current planning status or existing production in case of changes, describe effects and provide information for change management. Implement the changes based on cost and timing objectives. Handle any relevent PI's.
  • Support equipment planning and production to verify required equipment performance at the supplier. Set up 1st piece approval procedure and support the run @ rate and process release finding deviations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Establish process relevent master samples and border samples  for pre-series and series prduction according to product and process specifications, verify material consuption, and ensure additional material and parts are available for machine run ins, capability studies, validation efforts, and studies.
  • Validate processes and defined product characteristics against specificationsusing statistical methods. Develop, implement, and evaluate activities to improve efficiency.
  • Support Process FMEA as team member for process related topics to assure proper risk assessments are conducted and couter measures are being defined.


Job Requirements

Associates Degreee or equivalent work experience

3-5 years experience with Automotive Interiors Production Technology

3-5 years experience with Plastic Welding Technology
