Metrology Lab Specialist - 2nd Shift (53207)

Objective of job:

• This position is responsible for operating the Optical Measuring System (GOM) and the other inspection and measurement equipment within the Quality Service group to assure qusality standards are achieved as required by the customer. Support the lab as deemed necessary by supervisor or management. 

Principal Activities: 

• Clarify order-related, technical measurement issues with the involved department/requestors to assure that Orders are done in a timely manner with a high degree of quality.
• Check and prepare CAD-Data (CATIA, PLM, EMMA) with use with GOM or other Optical Measurement Systems (OMS).
• Create Statistical evaluations.
• If required conducting technical and general order processing (e.g. spare parts, calibrations, repair, destructive test).
• Create part-specific, reusable measurement fixtures to support the layout process.
• Create measurement programs using CAD models and / or production drawings (online /offline).
• Conduct measurements on Optical Measuring System (GOM) or Optical Measurement System (OMS) as required.
• Conduct other measurements with Standard measurement equipment as required.
• Performs necessary gage studies including R&R studies per MSA requirements.
• Generate and maintain necessary quality records.
• Assures proper usage, storage and maintenance of measurement equipment within the Quality Service area.
• Assists in examination of quality issues through root cause analysis and problem-solving methods.
• Participates in continuous improvement activities within the organization as necessary.

Hours:

• Monday to Friday - 4pm to 1am
