Objective of the Job

This position will be responsible for assisting the Plant Engineering group in all projects resulting in optimizing safety, quality, and productivity of any and all carlines.

 

Principal Activities:

  • Provide support for day to day operations of engineering department.
  • Assists production and maintenance in isolating complex manufacturing issues whether it is in process, material, or machine functionality related.
  • Optimize production processes for all parts.
  • Recommend production equipment and specifications for production department.
  • Assist in team development of Process Flows, FMEAs, Work Instructions, Time Studies, Machine Capacity, etc.
  • Responsible to work with support departments in scheduling and reporting of trials and the development of routings.
  • Responsible to track and coordinate continual process improvement projects.
  • Provide appropriate communications to Department Manager and Supervisors as needed to achieve and maintain labor efficiency, machine efficiency and costs.
  • Ergonomic review and improvements
  • Maintain equipment documentation (machine manual, drawings, backup programs, etc.)
  • Responsible in assisting Maintenance to understand what PMs and spare parts are required.
  • Manage various plant level projects
  • Completion of LSS Yellow Belt Certification and project

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in progress within the field of Mechanical Eng, Industrial Eng, or Automation Eng
  • Completed three semesters towards degree
  • Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Complete three alternating rotations for co-op positions
  • Able to work in the US indefinitely and without restrictions
