Objective of Job

Advise operational management on the subjects of industrial/occupational/environmental safety/fire protection as well as monitor and implement relevant measures and assure compliance for North America and any support for Central and the Americas as applicable.

 

Principal Activities

  • Consolidation of requirements and planed measures of the sites within the region
  • In compliance with central specifications help to shape and develop global and regional specific standards and strategies
  • Duty of escalation in cases of breach of compliance, law and governance through a defines escalation procedure
  • Create of a region/ county specific overview regarding possible risks and countermeasures
  • Support of central topics in consideration of regional specifics
  • Advisory to the region in regards to requirements of Health & Safety, fire and environmental protection and corporate security
  • Monitoring of specific projects in the region and on site
  • Conducting Audits in the sites or the region
  • Technical Leadership of the SI-3 (EHS) employees in the region
  • Implementation of the EHS – policy in the region
  • Ensuring implementation and training activities for the required management system standards (ISO 14001, ISO 148001 and ISO 50001) in the region
  • KPI – Reporting for the region
  • Ensuring the support structure for plants in the region
  • Applying best practice from other locations in the region
  • Oversee workers compensation claims by collaborating with injured employees, supervisor, and insurance provider, implementation of workers compensation policies and procedures. 

 

Job Requirements

  • Associates Degree in related business field or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • 30/OSHA
  • Train the Trainer certification
  • DOT Haz Material
  • EHS fire protection standards
  • Managerial or technical job related knowledge for 3-5 years in EHS
  • Safety and Health regualtions 3-5 years
  • Good knowledge base of GHS compliance
