Objective of job
The Cable Cutting Engineer is responsible for setup, maintenance, and optimization of cable cutting machines and associated tools. This role combines responsibilities from machine operation, equipment servicing, and toolroom maintenance to ensure high machine uptime, product quality, and operational efficiency.

Principle activities
General / Common Responsibilities:

Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or electrical equipment issues using diagnostic tools.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs, modifications, and reworks based on technical documentation.
Execute equipment installation, setup, calibration, and functional testing (manual or automated).
Conduct weekly/monthly maintenance activities; document tasks in systems such as OPTIMAIN.
Determine spare part requirements, manage inventory, and initiate procurement processes.
Identify, report, and eliminate root causes of equipment failures or inefficiencies.
Optimize machine functionality and reduce downtime across the cable cutting area.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe workspaces around machinery and tooling.
Follow all safety, health, environmental, 5s and quality standards and procedures.
Participate in continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.
Prepare all necessary document within the job scope

Cable Cutting Setter Duties:

Adjust and calibrate measuring equipment specific to cable cutting processes.
Perform adjustments and small repairs on cable cutting machines based on usage guidelines.
Operate, monitor, and shut down machines during cable production runs.
Load/unload materials and parts, ensuring smooth material flow.
Perform dimensional checks and quality testing on cut cables per technical drawings and work instructions.
Correct dimensional variations using machine adjusters.
Coordinate machine usage and personnel if required.
Act as point of contact for quality issues in the cable cutting area.
Assist with machine commissioning, relocation, and inter-departmental transfers.

Equipment Service Technician Duties:

Advise on equipment selection, planning, and procurement aligned with company standards.
Recommend updates to maintenance procedures and accident prevention measures.
Manufacture or rework complex components/equipment based on detailed technical documentation.
Troubleshoot, repair, and reprogram machine controls; perform test runs and document results.
Relocate and reinstall complex equipment across plant sites or production lines.
Provide feedback and suggestions for design improvements or weak point elimination.
Support machine performance optimization across the KS/VK production areas.

Production Maintenance Tool Room Technician Duties:

Maintain, repair, and adjust crimping tools, seal applicators, and associated tooling.
Perform simple to moderately complex repairs and maintenance on production equipment.
Remedy significant defects in toolroom equipment, ensuring tooling readiness for production.
Reduce tool-related downtime by ensuring proper maintenance and efficient resource use.
Monitor and reduce consumption of spare parts within approved budget targets.
Install, maintain, and relocate tooling and fixtures in production and toolroom areas.
