Trasport Coordinator / Controller

Principle activities

    Transports Coordination of all incoming and outgoing truck transports  
    Ordering of local transports
    Planning the capacity and number of transports 
    Creating detailed transport schedules
    Communication with forwarding companies
    Participation in the sourcing process of forwarders
    Collection of all transport data for the monthly overview (e.g. from ramp workers)
    Filling transport data into the monthly overview
    Monitoring of transports considering reliability and capacity utilization
    Recording of transport damages
    Coordination of special transports in case of any emergency - considering time and cost
    Availability in case of any emergency regarding transports 24/7
    Training of new employees
     Other tasks assigned by the supervisors
    Act as main contact person for Transport Control topics for external and internal counterparts
    Recognize bottlenecks and initiate special actions (e.g. special or rapid transports, extra shifts, etc.)
    Place transport orders in the respective systems
    Monitor delivery amounts and schedules
    Coordinate incoming and outgoing transports
    Coordinate Special transports/Premium Freight
    Monitor internal and external data quality in TISS system of transports in your responsibility.

    Specialized knowledge / education:    

    Graduate from any Stream OR Diploma
    Vocational/technical training usually acquired within one to two years plus a few years’ experience or additional technical training (knowledge and insight required for the application of practical methods and techniques, work procedures and processes; requiring a thorough knowledge of a vocational area)
    Work experience:  See above/ experience in a freight forwarding company or similar role is an advantage
 
    Additional knowledge:   

     Working Knowledge of Excel
    Awareness of Supply Chain concept
    Ability to work as part of a team
    Cost awareness
    Ability to understand and interpret logistics processes (JIT Processes , customer specific ordering )
    Fluency in English language (verbally and writing )
