Software Lead Engineer

What does the department do?

• Development of embedded software for automotive OEMs in the field of electromobility, modern lighting systems, and new wiring harness architectures.
• Development and implementation of concepts by using the latest technologies.
• Development and optimisation of product concepts and their evaluation.
• Support of the various stages of software development from pre-development to series production.
   

Your tasks :

• Technical leadership of an international software development team as well as contact person and decision maker for technical questions.
• Responsible for creating detailed software project plan and task assignment.
• Responsible for adherence to deadlines, quality and safety standards in the area of automotive software development.
• Carrying out requirements analysis, concept development and supporting development of software architecture
• Further development of the software engineering process
• Support creation and development of the product strategy from a software perspective.
• Support skills development of the team from a software engineering perspective.

Your profile:

• Completed studies (e.g., computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering) or comparable professional background
• 5+ years of professional experience in embedded software development, and 3+ years of professional experience as a lead software engineer preferred in the automotive field
• Knowledge of project planning, estimation, and delegation methods & tools
• Knowledge of embedded software development and C programming language
• Experience in working by A-SPICE development process
• Experience with different microcontrollers
• Experience in Functional Safety (ISO 26262) would be beneficial
• Know-how in one of the product areas: high voltage, electrical/electronic components, or ambient light
• Able to deal with functional conflicts, is flexible, customer and goal-oriented
• Can convey knowledge and act as a trainer
• Fluent in English, German would be an advantage
