Maintenance Engineer

Objective of Job

  • Maintain and improve the high level of technology in the manufacturing plant. 
  • Optimize the machine processes to improve cycle time, scrap reduction, quality defects, etc. 
  • Work with Production Engineering to execute process improvements for all carlines. 
  • Provide technical support for advanced trouble shooting on complex manufacturing issues

 

Principal Activities
  • Assists production and maintenance in isolating complex manufacturing issues whether it is in process, material, or machine functionality related.
  • Maintain department KPI measurements for machine downtime.
  • Provide continuous improvement and/or corrective actions for negative downtime trends.
  • Responsible for ensuring non-defined stores items and parts required for emergency repairs are procured in a timely manner.
  • Leads Root Cause Analysis activities to eliminate catastrophic breakdowns and reduce redundant failures.
  • Coordinate with purchasing to support technical purchases and warranty opportunities.
  • Assist project team in the install and signoff of new processes and equipment.
  • Travel is required 

 

 

Job Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Engineering or Industrial Maintenance or work equivalency in a related field
  • Work experience in automated manufacturing for 3-5 years
  • Experienced with hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC and robot programming, plastics processing
  • Working knowledge of SAP, preventative maintenance and project management database
